Last Saturday, I went to watch a movie at AMC Parkway Pointe 15 and I was amazed at the variety of food and drink options available. It’s been more than 3 years since I went to the theaters so you can imagine how pleasantly surprised I was to see how modernized the concession stand and the theater as a whole have become.
There was good ol’ popcorn, of course. But there were also a whole lot more to choose from, such as pretzels, flat breads, donut holes, sliders, hot dogs and chicken tenders. For beverages, they have Coca Cola products, Icee, coffee, energy drinks and bottled water.
I was told some of their locations even have the MacGuffins Bar which offer handcrafted cocktails, beer and wine. Too bad the AMC I went to doesn’t have this yet but it will hopefully have one soon!
Anyway, the reason why I’m making this post is because some of my friends have been asking me how much do popcorns cost at AMC now, specifically the large sized popcorn.
So let’s get right down to it, shall we?
How Much Does Popcorn Cost at AMC?
At the AMC theater I went to (in Atlanta, GA), the price of a regular size traditional popcorn is $9.49. If you want the large size traditional popcorn, you only need to pay a dollar more ($10.49).
But let’s say you want a cheesy popcorn then you’ll need to get the Gourmet Popcorn Single which costs $9.99. This is a small size popcorn version BTW so if you plan to eat a lot of popcorn or you know, share it with your companion, then I suggest you for for the Gourmet Popcorn Duo which is 85 ounces. It costs $11.99 and you can choose from Cheddar Cheese, Caramel, Hidden Valley Ranch or a combination of 2 flavors.
Do you want a drink with your popcorn? No problem, AMC has combo deals too. I’d recommend the Large Popcorn + Large Drink + Candy for $23.97. Or the Snack Pack Combo which has a Large Popcorn, 2 Drinks, and 2 Candies for $37.45.
Please take note that the prices of food and drinks may not be the same across all AMC locations. Some may be cheaper or more expensive by about a dollar or less.
Prices of Other Food and Drink Available at AMC
As mentioned earlier, you can choose from a variety of food and drinks at AMC. For those in need of a refreshing beverage while watching a movie, AMC offers Coca-Cola Freestyle products – a large drink costs $7.49 while a regular size one is $6.99.
If you prefer your drinks on the colder side, indulge in an Icee for $7.49. Costa Coffee is also available for $4.49.
Now, onto the snacks. Their crispy Chicken Tenders are my favorite, priced at $9.49. It pairs really well with the Curly Fries which costs $6.49. Then there’s also Impossible Nuggets for $9.99.
Mozzarella Sticks are available for $7.99 while Pretzel Bites cost $8.49. Or indulge in the Bavarian Legend Pretzel for $16.49, which is also great for sharing.
AMC’s Flatbread Pizza costs $10.49 while their All-Beef Hot Dog is $7.49. Then they also have Movie Nachos which costs $7.99.
Is Buying Food and Drinks at AMC Worth It?
Concessions are considered “essentials” in movie theaters, aren’t they? I mean, where would we be without that bucket of popcorn or those fruity candies to munch on while the action unfolds on the big screen?
